Overview

The owners/operators of a San Marino registered aircraft must have appropriate arrangements for continued airworthiness management as required by regulation.

CAR AIR | Continuing Airworthiness addresses the standards of continuing airworthiness for all San Marino registered aircraft operated under General Aviation CAR OPS 2A/2H and not managed by a CAA approved CAR CAMO and RPAS operated under CAR OPS 4.

The continuing airworthiness of an aircraft may be performed by an owner/operator’s Nominated Airworthiness Coordinator directly employed by the owner/operator or an accepted CAMO as defined in CAP 02 Section 21.

CAR CAMO | Continuing Airworthiness addresses the standards of continuing airworthiness for a San Marino registered aircraft operated under General Aviation CAR OPS 2A/2H and managed by a CAA approved CAR CAMO.

The continuing airworthiness of an aircraft may be performed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager directly employed by an approved CAR CAMO organisation when contracted to do so.

CAR OPS 1/3 Subpart M prescribes aeroplane maintenance and continuing airworthiness requirements for all aircraft operated in accordance with Commercial Air Transportation regulations.

The continuing airworthiness of a commercially operated aircraft is the responsibility of the Postholder for Continuing Airworthiness in the Operator holding a San Marino AOC. It is possible to sub-contract CAR OPS 1/3 Operator’s Subpart M continuing airworthiness tasks to a third-party under the Quality System of the AOC Holder. The department within the AOC Holder responsible for Continuing Airworthiness management is sometimes referred to as CAMO, Technical Services, Support Services, or Engineering, hereinafter called continuing airworthiness management services.
